Service Privacy Policy

Wantedly, Inc.(“Company” or “we”) will handle your information as follows on all services offered by us and in all events and seminars held by us except those conducted for Company Recruitment Activities (“our Services”). You must carefully read the Service Privacy Policy and agree to all content herein in order to use our Services. You must cease use of our Services if you do not agree to the Service Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Acquire

We may acquire and use the following information when you use our Services. Some functions of our Services may be unavailable to you if you do not provide the following information.

  1. Profile Information: When you create an account to use our Services, we will acquire the profile information, including your name, age, sex, address, phone number, profile photo, employer, title, employment history, educational history, qualifications, and email address.
  2. Information Registered on Third-Party Services: If you link or connect an account on our Services with an account on a third-party service (Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, Hatena Bookmark, etc.), we will acquire your ID, profile information, and other information from the linked third-party service.
  3. Business Card Information: When you provide business card information via our Services, we will acquire a business card image and the name, title, company name, address, phone number, email address, and other information indicated on the business card.
  4. Connection Information: When you make connections with other customer accounts via Services, we will acquire your connection information (people with whom you have connected, number of connections, etc.).
  5. Contact Information: When you use the contact information adding function, we will acquire your terminal’s contact information (name, phone number, email address, photo, etc.).
  6. Calendar Information: When you provide calendar information via our Services, we will acquire information related to your schedule.
  7. Location Information: For some Services, we may acquire location information transmitted from your mobile phone or other devices in order to provide you with services that use location information.
  8. Payment Information: When you use paid features on our Services, we may acquire certain financial information (credit card information, bank account information, etc.).
  9. Information Related to State of Use: When you use our Services, we may acquire technical information transmitted automatically from your terminal (terminal identifier, ad ID, IP address, cookie information, OS type, browser type, browser language, landing page, number of page views, number of clicks, viewing order, viewing time, search terms, etc.).
  10. Inquiry Information: We may acquire information related to you (identification information, etc.) through our interactions with you on inquiry forms, etc.
  11. Other: We will acquire other information related to you that you provide on our Services.

2. Purposes of Use

We use the information we acquire from you for the following purposes.

2.1 Providing, Improving, and Developing our Services

  1. To provide Services seamlessly;
  2. To investigate and analyze the state of use of our Services, and to enhance the quality of, improve, and develop our Services;
  3. To tailor the content, advertisements, etc., displayed on our Services to individual interests and needs (personalization);
  4. To search for other users you know or may know and to recommend connections to you;
  5. To communicate with you regarding our Services;
  6. To respond to your inquiries;
  7. To bill you for service fees or to ship products or prizes to you;
  8. To introduce or explain our Services to you or persons other than you (provided, however, that we will not send such guidance to persons other than you without your consent);
  9. To introduce or explain services, products, events, seminars, etc., of our Company and our partner companies; and
  10. To provide such information for use in academic research.

2.2 Maintaining the Security of our Services

  1. To ensure the safety of our Services; and
  2. To prevent unauthorized access, spamming, and other improper use.

2.3 Ad Delivery, Marketing

  1. To provide ads (including personalized ads) related to the products and services of our Company or third parties; and
  2. To create statistical data related to the use of our Services

3. Public Information

Of the information we acquire, the following information will be accessible to other customers using our Services; provided, however, that the extent of public availability of acquired information can be modified within the scope of our Services’ specifications.

  1. Your profile information;
  2. Your business card information;
  3. Information registered on third-party services; and
  4. Connection information

4. Disclosure of Acquired Information to Third Parties

We will not disclose the information we acquire to third parties without your consent, except in the cases specified below and where permitted under laws and regulations.

  1. When you click on the “Want to Visit” or the “I’m interested!” button on a job posting page on Wantedly Visit, we will disclose your profile information to the relevant recruiter.
  2. When you view a specific job posting page on Wantedly Visit, we may disclose information regarding your viewing of the page to the relevant recruiter.
  3. When you view another customer’s profile page on Wantedly Visit, we may disclose information about your viewing to the customer.
  4. When you make use of Wantedly Visit’s Perk functions, we may share your state of use of Perk functions with Perk service providers and the home company associated with your account.

4.2. Behavioral Targeting etc.

There may be cases where, for the purpose of Behavioral Targeting, we will provide third parties with non-identifying information about you (terminal identifier, ad IDs, cookie information, access logs, etc.) or statistical information created on the basis thereof.

5. Sharing of Acquired Information with Third Parties

We may share the information we acquire as follows.

  1. Information We Share: Acquired information as specified in “1. Information We Acquire”
  2. Scope of Persons with Whom We Share Information: Our group companies (subsidiaries and affiliates)
  3. How These Persons Use the Information We Share with Them: As described in “2. Purposes of Use”
  4. Person in Charge of Management of Information Sharing: Wantedly, Inc., General Personal Information Protection Manager
  5. Reference information regarding the third parties specified in 2. who are located in foreign countries

6. Regarding External Transmission of User Data

We may utilize tags or information gathering modules to transmit user data to external parties in order to enhance the quality and experience of our Services, personalize displayed content and ads, or for analysis purposes. For further information regarding the specific destination and service names, the externally transmitted content, and the purpose of information transmission, please refer to “Regarding External Transmission of User Data”.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information etc.

7.1 Disclosure

You are entitled to request disclosure of the personal information you provide to us, in accordance with our prescribed procedures, except where we are not obligated to do so under laws and regulations; provided, however, that we will collect a prescribed disclosure fee in some cases.

7.2 Correction etc.

You are entitled to request the correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or erasure of personal information, in accordance with our prescribed procedures, except where we are not obligated to do so under laws and regulations.

8. Revisions

Privacy Policy for Recruitment Activities

Wantedly, Inc. (“Company” or “we”) will handle as follows the personal information of persons (“Candidates”) who apply or participate in hiring events, job recruitment, and employment screenings (“Recruitment Activities”) conducted by our Company. You must read this Privacy Policy carefully before making applications.

1. Personal Information We Acquire

We may acquire and use the following personal information of Candidates from Candidates, hiring services, hiring agents, etc., in order to achieve the purposes specified in “2. Purposes of Use”.

  1. Personal information given on resumes, CVs, etc. (including, without limitation, name, age, sex, marital status, address, phone number, employer, employment history, educational history, nationality, and email address).
  2. Content of communication conducted for Recruitment Activities, including communication between the Company and Candidates.
  3. History of applying and participating in Recruitment Activities and results of employment screenings.
  4. Personal information related to the health of Candidates.
  5. Other information that can be easily cross-referenced with other information to identify an individual Candidate.

2. Purposes of Use

We use the personal information of Candidates that we acquire for the following purposes. 1. For Candidate Recruitment Activities; 2. To introduce or explain various hiring events and accept applications; 3. To provide various information etc. about our Company; 4. To assist in the acquisition of required entry visas and work permits; 5. To carry out procedures related to employment agreements between Candidates and our Company; 6. To make preparations required to begin employment at our Company, such as enrolling in social insurance and conducting health examinations;
7. To reevaluate the possibility of future employment; and 8. To create statistical data of information related to Recruitment Activities and utilize the same for future Company Recruitment Activities.

3. Disclosure of Acquired Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide the personal information we acquire to third parties without the consent of the relevant Candidate, except in the following cases. 1. In cases pursuant to laws and regulations; 2. When such a provision is necessary to protect the life, person, or property of any person and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the Candidate concerned; 3. When such a provision is necessary for the improvement of public health and hygiene or the promotion of sound childrearing, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the Candidate concerned; 4. When such a provision is necessary to cooperate with the conduct of administrative affairs as set forth in laws and regulations by a national administrative organization, local public entity, or a person delegated thereby, and obtaining the Candidate’s consent could impede the conduct of such affairs; 5. When personal data is provided in conjunction with a business succession due to a merger or other such cause.

4. Outsourcing of Handling of Personal Information to Third Parties

We may outsource the handling of personal information to a service contractor in whole or in part, to the extent necessary to achieve “2. Purposes of Use”. When outsourcing, we will fully review the qualifications of service contractors and ensure in agreements that personal information will be managed properly. Further, we will appropriately supervise such contractors in their management.

5. Sharing of Acquired Information with Third Parties

We may share the information we acquire as follows. 1. Information We Share: Acquired information as specified in “1. Personal Information We Acquire” 2. The personal information we acquire from Candidates may be transferred and/or used between Wantedly, Inc. in Japan and our subsidiaries in Singapore, only to the extent necessary to achieve “2. Purposes of Use”. Our subsidiaries and we will transfer and receive personal information in compliance with the laws of our respective countries.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information etc.
